| Founded in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 2005 by local independent filmmakers and screenwriters, the CIFA continues to grow as an organization dedicated to promoting true independent film production in the Southeast Missouri area! Filmmakers, writers, actors, artists, musicians, and anyone in the community interested in the art of film production is welcome to join our rapidly growing film movement! We have many exciting shoots ahead and plans for new film festivals and a possible Cape Film Studio facility! Join us! | WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CAPE INDIE FILMMAKING! 1-01-08 Well, with a new year brings some new changes to the CIFA and some new and exciting developments in local film! Michael Huntington is stepping down as head of the CIFA for the coming year to focus on some personal projects. Carrie Clover will be acting Chairman for 2008. Contacy Carrie through this site to get involved with local film projects and to stay up to date on what is going on! The first meeting of the new year will take place January 22nd at 7 p.m. at Grace Cafe on Broadway in Cape. All are welcome to attend - old and new faces alike! The big local project for the coming year is the budgeted feature film "The Lies of Others" from Steve Turner of Schrader Turner Films. Shooting is slated to begin May 10th. Auditions will be held in the coming months in St. Louis, Austin, and Chicago! Ryan Maurer's team at CHANGE IN THE COUCH PRODUCTIONS finished a work entitled "Insectinside" and the guys at SHINN'S LIST PRODUCTIONS wowed everyone with the short "Chk Ur Frnd" which made it to the Best Of! Hats off to all who participated and again made Cape filmmaking proud! |
